Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Mother’s Day is just around the corner.

The other day, Michael said, “I don’t know what to get you!”

To which I replied, “I really don’t want anything.” I know that sounds like the old story where the wife says she doesn’t want anything but then is upset she didn’t get anything. But the truth is, I really don’t need a “thing.” I said, “Just make sure I don’t have to do dishes all day and let me take a nap.” Because, as a pregnant mom of little ones, that truly is the best gift.

And, I think in general, Mother’s Day gifts that are more gestures showing appreciation rather than material items go a long way.

Here are some ideas:

  • Let mom sleep in.
  • Gift a card to a spa she likes (with a set time to go where childcare is provided so she doesn’t have to arrange that).
  • Make sure all the dishes are done all day.
  • Write a heartfelt note.
  • Order her favorite coffee, lunch, or dinner.

You get the point.

But I also know many of us like to give an actual gift (I do!). So, when I crossed my own Mother’s Day shopping off my to-do list this past week, I thought I’d round up some of the good finds that I think would make great Mother’s Day gifts for 2024.
