Sure, it’s only Tuesday, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start it off with a little bit of spirits and merriment. Everyone loves a slushy in heat of summer, but you’ll love these grown up ones even more (because, tequila.)
The best thing about grown-up slushies is they are so stinking easy. Alcohol doesn’t freeze, but the mix-ins we’re going to use do. Thus, instant slushy in the freezer with no blenders or shaved ice.
I made three different flavors. Firstly is the classic margarita, then a screwdriver, and finally a blueberry gin mix. For each of these slushies, simply combine the ingredients and then pour into a shallow bowl. Place them into the freezer for 1-2 days. Scoop out with a large spoon and enjoy!
Margarita slushy: 1 ounce sweetened lime juice, 1 ounce water, 1/2 ounce cointreau, 2 ounces tequila.
Screwdriver: 5 ounces orange juice, 3 ounces vodka
Blueberry-gin: 3 muddled blueberries, 1/4 ounce grenadine syrup, 1/2 ounce lime juice, 2 ounces water, 3 ounces gin
