Michael and I are just 3 days from moving and my total and complete obsession with browsing Pinterest, Instagram feeds, and home and living blogs has not slowed. See, the house we currently rent and live in now is old – like try it was built in 1775 – that’s before the Revolutionary War if history isn’t your thing. Being old it has a lot of character and that’s part of why like it. However, it also maintains a lot of its old style including wood walls, wood cabinets, wood ceiling…it’s a lot of wood. It’s beautiful but I was never able to mesh it with our own style. I have boxes of artwork I never hung in this house just because it didn’t match.
So, that being said, I’m more excited than usual about moving so I can nest into my space.
In my extensive “research,” if we want to call it that, I’ve narrowed down some of the best places to get things for your home without totally breaking the bank – decorating your house is expensive, right?! These are my favorite places on the internet to scour for new pieces for the home whether it’s an accent table or a tapestry.
1. Dormify
Warning, this site is addicting and I don’t know how I didn’t know about it earlier. Their prices are awesome and you can get unique finds and quirky pieces. I love having things in my house that are fun and happy, and this is the place to get them. They also have a room inspiration section, which I always love when looking for good ideas for putting pieces together.
2.H&M Home
WHAT? I know, H&M has home stuff and it’s da.bomb. I found their home section a few years back when looking for a unique shower curtain. You can get adorable pillows, decor pieces, and textiles at crazy low prices.
3.Etsy
Maybe a “duh” option, but I love checking Etsy when I have a specific thing in mind I want. Not only is it way cooler to have something handmade rather than mass produced, but often the prices are really reasonable because you cut out the overhead. It’s amazing what you can find on Etsy nowadays from lighting to bedding to rugs and everything in between.
4.Target
Just take my money, right? Target has been killin’ it the past few seasons with their home accent pieces and people of the internet have noticed. Everything from farmhouse chic to Scandinavian inspired, you can find awesome pieces at agreeable prices. Also, that Llama lamp, you see it? NEED. I.need.it.
5. ModCloth Home
This was another winner for me I didn’t know about until just recently. It’s mostly home accents like pillows, textiles, decor, etc., but a lot of unique and fun pieces to add to your home. Careful, I got sucked into this website for longer than I care to admit.
6.Wayfair
Wayfair you’ve got just what I need! Jingles that get stuck in your head, right? Wayfair is a great place to go if you’re in need of some new furniture or larger pieces. While the prices can skew all over the map from pricey to not, in general, you can likely find pieces inside your price range. We just ordered our new bed frame from there. The customer reviews section include customer photos, which I love because they always help me make purchasing decisions.
