It’s SWEATER SEASON! The heavens rejoice. Women everywhere pull out their jeggings and comfy plush socks. Hot cocoa is simmering on the stove. It really is the most wonderful time of the year.
I have 2 words to describe my wardrobe – comfortable and versatile. I like classic pieces I can wear again and again and that look good in a variety of ways. So, today I’m sharing 7 sweaters in my closet that I’ll be living in all winter long.
The Tunic Sweater
Ok, so the one I have pictured isn’t technically a sweater, but it’s close enough so we’ll give it a pass. I love a good tunic length sweater because, duh, leggings. There’s nothing more satisfying than throwing on a pair of leggings and a comfy sweater and calling it an outfit.

The Classic
A classic, simple sweater can be worn on REPEAT year after year. They are like the swing tank of the winter. I snagged this one from Old Navy last week – I sized up to a medium for a looser fit (I personally prefer my sweaters loose).

The Oversized Mock Neck
There’s something about a mock neck sweater that just oozes comfort. It’s not as overbearing as a turtleneck but still gives that let’s-cozy-up-on-the-couch vibe, you know what I’m saying? I just grabbed this baby blue one for winter and am quite certain I’ll live in it.

The Super Soft Classic
If you really want to step up your game, grab some classic sweaters in an ULTRA soft material. I got this one from American Eagle specifically because it was called “super soft.” Like, that’s good marketing right there. They know exactly what matters most to me. My only complaint is the sleeves are a little short – but that’s always been a problem for me and AE tops.

The Chunky Turtleneck
I’m not sure what it is but when I wear a chunky turtleneck they make me feel like a super chic, put together, fancy version of myself. Like, I’m almost the person who could get monthly facials and use fine china for Thanksgiving dinner. They are basically my alter ego sweater.

The Sweater Duster Vest

I bought this sweater duster vest 4 years ago and never knew how much I’d wear it. I wear it tied over long sleeves, war it untied with shorts, over dresses. SO versatile! This one isn’t available anymore, but I’ve linked some similar ones below.
The High-Quality Sweatshirt
Feels a little silly called a sweatshirt high-quality…but there IS a difference. I’m not talking about the tattered old sweatshirt of your college alumni, we’re talking a nicer quality sweatshirt with a little bit of class. Comparing beer to wine here. Both have their place in our lives. I love the Aerie sweatshirts, they are soft, usually a little longer which I find flattering with a sweatshirt, and have simple details lie zipped sides or oversized drawstrings.
