I spent the past 5 days in West Palm Beach, FL – visiting my mom. ย As some of you know, my mom is actually making my wedding dress for me, and with less than 3 months to go (EK!) we had to squeeze in a fitting for the dress.
And, if you were wondering, so far so good: dress seems to be coming along just fine!
We spent most of our time relaxing, the first two days I was working from mom’s house – however, it just looks a little different when you’re doing it from a pool. ย I also picked up these adorable Paper Source notebooks which are my new favorite things.
I think I could get used to working underneath the palm trees in cut-offs with my feet in the water.
Once we had some free time we ventured out. ย We spent a morning shopping – and successfully picked a rehearsal dinner dresses (yay!)
On Friday we were supposed to go out on a sailboat ride that was unfortunately got cancelled last minute, however considering it allowed us to settled into a bar to watch some basketball andย we got to see THIS ridiculous game, we called it a win. ย Weย were just out of West Palm Beach in a place called Stuart, which was a VERY adorable Florida town, if you ever happen to be passing through.
Michael even convinced be into a fruity frozen cocktail (which aren’t typically my cup of tea) with “vacation” as his excuse – which was enough for me. We told the bartender to “make us one of those frozen ones” and this is what we got. ย Still not sure WHAT it was, but it was tasty, even if too sweet and I made Michael share it with me.
On our final day we spent most the day being lazy and I even took a dip into mom’s pool (even though she claimedย that the water was only 74 degrees which ISN’T warm enough – HA! warm enough for the New Englander.)
It was another fun trip, considering my last trip to Flordia to visit mom was 2 years ago!
I’m now in post-vacation blues on this drizzly Monday morning in Connecticut, however, spring is DEFINITELY on its way and I’m pumped!
